JP12LOM (CM Value $ 39.93)

Dear Mang Brata,

We received the showroom samples for JP12LOM. Thank you for the on-time delivery. I performed the QC. I see that you have successfully addressed the problems I brought to your attention previously. The resin topcoat is clear. The earring pairs are well-matched. Thank you for the attention to these details.

In this first round of production of showroom samples, however, I noticed some new issues that need improvement. I hope you will improve these areas for the delivery of JP12LOM in June.

imageOne problem on all earrings is the appearance of the silver-plated bails. The bails on many earrings had pits or an unattractive orange-peel texture. Please see attached spreadsheet "Loom QC Silver Plate." Please make sure the bails have a smooth and shiny surface.

imageThere continue to be some issues with the sticker stopping short of the edge of the shell. This problem was most evident on the 30mm circle, LOM-0312-09, and the 25 x 12 mm rectangle, LOM-0312-11. Please see attached spreadsheet "Loom QC Sticker Size" for photo examples. Additionally, these 2 styles did not appear to have a resin top-coat and the sticker was very easy to peel up.

imageAnother problem with samples received is that the shell is thinner than my original approval samples. Please look at the half-pair samples I sent you for reference. The thickness of the shell contributes to the perceived value of the earring. The thinner shell pieces make the earrings look less valuable. Additionally, on many earrings, there was a gap between the shell and the bail, which made the earring fall apart easily because there was not enough surface contact for the glue to hold. This was especially a problem with the styles LOM-0312-01, LOM-0312-10, and LOM-0312-11. Please make sure the shell pieces are cut to the thickness of the approval samples and that the bails fit tightly to the shell.

imageThe styles LOM-0312-02, LOM-0312-05, LOM-0312-06, and LOM-0312-08 had problems with the resin top coat not being sealed down to the shell. I was able to separate the resin coat from the shell. Please see attached spreadsheet "Loom QC Resin Topcoat Separating." Please make sure the 2 layers seal together.

imageI noticed that the shell and ink color on LOM-0312-06 and LOM-0312-12 were different, darker and more gray than the approval samples. See attachment for each style. The other styles with white shell and silver ink (LOM-0312-01, LOM-0312-04, and LOM-0312-10) were the correct color.

Additionally, please see the other attached spreadsheets per style for other special issues like bubbles in the sticker and dirt trapped on the edge of stickers.

I will send samples of the defect earrings for you to study. They will be in our next material shipment.

Thank you for your attention to these matters. By addressing these issues I hope we can make this collection a success.
